Grassland Details

• All farm closed on 18^th November
• Average farm cover 825 kg DM/day on 18^th November

Housing/Nutrition details

• All cows receiving pre-calving minerals at rate of 100 grams/head/day
• Bull calves to receive 1.5kgs/head/day and heifer calves 1kg/head/day for January and meal feeding will cease in February
• Replacement heifers to remain on 1.5kg/head/day

Key recommendations for this week

1. Continue feeding meal to finishers at 7kg/head/day
2. Another draft to be done on the finishing cattle next Thursday 14^th January
3. Bull calves to receive 1.5kgs/head/day and heifer calves 1kg/head/day for January and meal feeding will cease in February
4. Replacement heifers to remain on 1.5kg/head/day
5. Currently cows penned according to BCS and feed is being restricted to cows over 4 BCS
6. Most cows will be fed some straw in weeks coming up to calving
7. Cows will be penned and given scour vaccine according to calving date beginning 18^th Jan
